Designing Interactive Digital Signage for Tourist Engagement

November 10, 20232 min read

In a bid to modernize the tourist experience in 2015, I led a project to design digital signage for the government, aimed at hotels and tourist centers. This initiative, though it didn't win the contract, was a pivotal step in my career. It allowed me to apply my skills in Adobe Illustrator, and paved the way for future government collaborations in web interface development. This project exemplifies my early work in creating functional and user-friendly design solutions that serve public needs and enhance information accessibility.

What was the purpose of the project?

The goal was to create an interactive digital signage solution for the government to be used in hotels and tourist spots. As the project leader, I was responsible for designing a digital sign that was not only functional but also engaging, aiding tourists in effortlessly finding information about local services and attractions.

Participating in this government tender was an early endeavor in my career, one that provided substantial learning and growth. Despite not winning the bid, the experience was far from a setback. It led to valuable networking, which opened the door to further government projects, including developing web interfaces.
